No. 1 BOONEVILLE (4-2) at No. 7 Mansfield (5-1)

Booneville beat Greenland 41-14 on Friday for its third win in a row. Rylen Ray (99 yards rushing, 1 TD) and Dax Goff (89 yards rushing, 4 TDs) led the Bearcats offense. Goff’s first touchdown run coincided with him going over 4,000 career yards. Jonah Nguyen (2 tackles) held his ground on defense. Booneville Coach Doc Crowley says he feels his team is starting to come together and that his players won’t lack motivation going up against No. 7 Mansfield on the road. Mansfield fought defending 3A state champion Charleston in a 14-7 loss last week. The Tigers were led on offense by Daniel Burton (14-106 rushing) and Andrew Burton (8-19 rushing, 1 TD). Mansfield’s defense held Charleston without a point in the second half of its loss. Andrew Burton, Tyler Turnipseed, and Samuel Burton all intercepted passes. This matchup holds meaning for both sides, as Mansfield's Coach Whit Overton, in his first year as head coach, after serving as an assistant coach at Booneville.

3A NONCONFERENCE

Homer, La. (5-1) at No. 2 PRESCOTT (6-1): Homer beat (0-6) Plain Dealing 60-0 last week to record its fifth win. The Pelicans have scored a combined 227 total points in their past 4 games, though all 4 teams possess losing records. QB Zyan Warren (38-60 passing, 561 yards, 9 TDs, 2 INT), Gregory Williams (555 rushing, 10 TDs) and Jamarquese Hampton (248 yards receiving, 2 TDs) lead the Pelicans. No. 2 Prescott won its fifth in a row, 54-14 against Fouke on Friday. QB Pierce Yates (17-23 passing, 256 yards, 3 TDs; 7-38 yards), Jah’Noah Harris (11-108 rushing, 3 TDs), Damien Corletto (7-38 rushing, 1 TD), Spencer Hubbard (5-49 receiving), D’Wayne White (6 -95 receiving, 1 TD) and Jaylen Johnson (2-38 receiving, 2 TDs) led the offense against Fouke. The Curley Wolves have scored a combined 196 points over the past 4 weeks. Prescott beat Homer 9-0 when the teams played last year.


1-3A

No. 4 CHARLESTON (3-3) at Hackett (4-2): The reigning 3A champs escaped with a 14-7 win in battle against No. 7 Mansfield. The Tigers played without QB Carter Little in the second half last week. Little (12-19 passing, 111, 2 TDs) led the Charleston offense before exiting with an injury. Maddix Terry (7-50 receiving, 2 TDs; fumble recovery) also had a solid game. Hackett QB Cole Ketchum threw 5 first-half TD passes in a 41-7 win against Cedarville.

LAVACA (5-1) at Greenland (1-5): Lavaca rebounded from a loss to Hackett 2 weeks ago to beat West Fork 49-12 last week. Leading the way for the Golden Arrows in that game was QB Cutler Winters (15-21 passing, 147 yards, 3 TDs), Michael Barwick (21 -114 rushing, 1 TD) and Andrew Johnson ( 8-113 receiving, 2 TDs). Camden Callahan (11 tackles) led Lavaca's defense. Greenland lost 41-14 to No. 1 Booneville on Friday. Brandon Vaughn (13-yard TD; 65-yard fumble return TD) accounted for the Pirates' scoring.

Cedarville (0-6) at WEST FORK (1-5): Cedarville, seeking its first win, fell 41-7 against Hackett this past week. Chase Oden threw a TD pass to Reed Payton with 21.3 seconds left. QB Cooper Ridenoure scored both touchdowns in West Fork's 49-12 loss to Lavaca. West Fork beat Cedarville 42-14 last year.


2-3A

No. 5 SALEM (7-0) at Yellville-Summit (3-3): Salem, 1 of 2 Class 3A teams sitting at 7-0, beat Melbourne 38-27 this past week. QB Lukas Downs (66 passing, 1 TD; 10-81 rushing, 1 TD), Elijah Romine (20-191 rushing, 2 TDs), Kaden Brink (16-86 rushing, 2 TDs) and Spencer Jackson (2-42 yards receiving, 1 TD) led the offense for Salem. Kaiden Hollis (7 tackles), Gatlin Branscum (6 solo tackles, 5 assists, 2.0 TFL), and Nick Ortiz (3 tackles, 2.0 TFL) led the Salem defense. Yellville-Summit lost 51-30 against Quitman, its third consecutive loss after a 3-0 start. Salem has won the last 6 games in the series with Yellville-Summit.

Perryville (4-2) at MELBOURNE (3-3): Perryville was open last week after beating Atkins 22-16. QB Connor Frith (13-110 rushing) intercepted his fifth pass of the season from his safety spot on defense. Grant Griffith's 13-yard catch on 4th and 9 led to a score that put the Mustangs in control. RB and DE Wyatt Brown (1 TD receiving; 1 TD rushing; 1 TFL, 1 INT, fumble recovery) stood out on both sides of the ball for Perryville. Luke Underwood averaged 41 yards on 5 punts, including 2 down inside the 5. Sophomore OL Ian McCain (5 pancake blocks, no hurries/sacks allowed) toed the line well for Perryville. Melbourne comes in off an 11-point loss to No. 5 Salem. Robert Langston (4-77 receiving, 1 TD) and Cole Bookout ( 147 passing, 3 TDs) led the offense. Bryce Young (10 tackles, blocked punt) and Tanner Williams (10 tackles, INT) led the Melbourne defense. The Bearkatz received a boost from kicker Fernando Ventura (3 extra points, FGs of 35, 42 yards) as well. Melbourne has won 3 in a row against Perryville.


QUITMAN (3-3) at Atkins (0-7): Quitman won its second straight game 51-30 last Friday against Yellville-Summit. Jordan Payne-Moore (6/7 passing, 187 yards passing, TD; 1 TD rushing), Greyson Ealy (6-201 passing, 1 TD), Eli Hartman (18-102 rushing, 1 TD) and Bryson Thacker (5-59 rushing, 3 TD’s) led the offense for the Bulldogs. Atkins lost to No. 10 Newport 47-18 this past week and continues to seek its first win of the year. In its game against Newport, John Davis (9 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 pass deflection; 1 TD) led the effort for the Red Devils. In last season's matchup, Quitman came away with the 38-6 win over Atkins.

3-3A

No. 6 HOXIE (6-0) at Piggott (0-7): Hoxie comes off a bye week but won 49-6 in its most recent game against Palestine-Wheatley. QB Kayden Glenn (5-7 passing, 100 yards, 2 TDs; 2-47 rushing), Robert Martinez (6-77 rushing, 2 TDs), Camden Brooks (8-65 rushing, 2 TDs) and Prechton Wilkerson (3-58 rushing, 1 TD) led the way. Hoxie Coach Tom Sears said he was proud of his team's execution and effort in that game. Piggott lost 49-0 last week to No. 8 Walnut Ridge. Hoxie has won the past 4 matchups against Piggott, including shutouts in their past 2 meetings.

MANILA (2-4) at Palestine-Wheatley (2-4): Manila lost 60-26 last week against Barton. Palestine-Wheatley fell to Osceola last week 48-8. The Patriots have scored twice in their past 3 games for a total of 16 points. Manila has won 2 of the past 3 matchups against Palestine-Wheatley, including 54-30 last year.

4-3A

No. 9 GLEN ROSE (4-2) at Danville (1-5): Glen Rose vaulted into the top 10 after beating Bismarck 33-14 last week. The Beavers lost to 4A teams Crossett and Malvern, but have won 4 in a row since, outscoring its opponents 176-27 in that span. Danville picked up its first win last week 49-14 over Two Rivers. Gunner Wilkins (12-116 rushing, 1 TD) and Jaxson Brents (6-8 passing, 95 passing, 2 TDs; 5-58 rushing, 2 TDs) led the offense. Glen Rose has won its past 2 games against the Little Johns.

BISMARCK (4-2) at Magnet Cove (5-1): Bismarck had a 4-game winning streak end with a 33-14 loss to Glen Rose. Magnet Cove suffered its first loss, 41-40, to Centerpoint. The Panthers went into that matchup as the No. 8 team in 3A after starting the year 5-0. Bismarck beat Magnet Cove 42-7 last season, its second consecutive win in the series.

Jessieville (3-3) at CENTERPOINT (3-3): Jessieville bounced back from a 49-0 loss to Glen Rose, beating Paris 43-17. Jessieville has averaged 43 points in its 3 victories. Centerpoint knocked off previously undefeated Magnet Cove 41-40 last week. Drew Diggs (12-24 passing, 265 passing, 3 TDs) and Bryce Harless (5-125 receiving, 1 TD) led the way on offense. Centerpoint Coach Cary Rogers praised the play of tackle Tate Spray. Rogers expects this week's game against Jessieville to be another hard-fought contest.

Two Rivers (0-6) at PARIS (2-4): Winless Two Rivers comes in off a 49-14 loss to Danville. Paris lost its third in a row after a 2-1 start, beating Jessieville 43-17. Paris has won five consecutive against Two Rivers and is favored to make it 6 in a row this week.

5-3A

FOUKE (4-3) at Gurdon (2-3): Fouke lost 54-14 to No. 2 Prescott last week. Gurdon comes off a bye week but suffered a 52-7 loss against Prescott in its most recent outing. The Go-Devils have been outscored 92-7 in their last 2 games. Fouke has won the last 2 games against Gurdon.

SMACKOVER (3-3) at Horatio (1-5): Smackover had a 2-game winning streak end in a 33-20 last Friday to Junction City. Horatio QB Riley Williamson (8-15 passing, 76 yards, 1 TD; 5 INT), Trey Smith (2-34 receiving, 1 TD) and Drake Angel (9-35 rushing) led the offense. Williamson (5 tackles) and Leyton Choa (3 tackles, 1 TFL) led the Lions defense. Smackover has won 3 in a row against Horatio and has outscored the Lions 162-12 in those games.

6-3A

FORDYCE (3-3) at Rison (0-6): Fordyce had a bye this past week but won 47-14 against Drew Central in its most recent outing. Keilin Ellison (48-yard TD pass) and Brenton Sledge (14-80 rushing, 1 TD) led the Redbugs. Five different players rushed for TDs. Tayshaun Childs (11 tackles, blocked extra point) and Ellison (4 tackles, pick- 6 TD) helped Fordyce take control. Rison lost 56-13 to No. 3 Harmony Grove Ouachita County in its most recent outing. Rison beat Fordyce last year, but the Redbugs have won 2 of the past 3 matchups.

Drew Central (2-5) at BARTON (4-3): Drew Central beat Lake Village 52-8 last week, led by Jase Watt (6-8 passing, 152 yards, 3 TDs; 1 rushing TD) and Kalani Collins (16-118 rushing, 2 TDs). Drew Central yielded 78 total yards. Barton beat Manila in a 60-26 blowout last week. NeTaveus Johnson (6-162 rushing, 3 TDs) and Qulan Green (5-142 receiving, 5 TDs) sparked the offense. Braylon Harvey (11 tackles, 2 TFL) and Johnson (2 tackles, 2 PBU, 1 INT; 85-yard KO return TD) anchored Barton's defense.
