HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 2 Nashville at No. 3 Pulaski Academy
These teams have played in six state title games over the past seven years. The winner takes control of the rugged 7-4A.

Pulaski Academy, winners of four conference titles in the past six years, has beaten Class 5A Central Arkansas Christian (59-33), Class 6A Lake Hamilton (41-24) Pulaski Oak Grove (44-20) this season. The Bruins named Fredi Knighten as its starting quarterback at Pulaski Oak Grove a week ago and the junior completed 32 of 40 passes, including all 15 attempts in the second half, for 444 yards and four TDs. Knighten has completed 74 of 110 passes for 1,189 yards and 11 touchdowns with just one interception this season, and he's rushed for 253 yards and a pair of TDs. Seniors Zac Reyna (30 catches, 528 yards and four TDs) and Garrett Lamb (21 catches, 396 yards and five TDs) pace the Bruin receivers. Senior defensive lineman Dirk Tanner has recorded 39 tackles, including five behind the line of scrimmage, and a pair of sacks this season.

"It's a typical Pulaski Academy team," said Nashville coach Tim Perry. "I don't see any weakness and didn't expect to. Their five receivers know how to run correct routes, catch the ball and make yards after the catch. They make you defend the entire field for four downs. They put a lot of pressure on your defense."

Nashville counters with returning all-league QB Cole Moore (more than 800 yards, eight TDs and two interceptions) and running back Devencio Hawthorne (rushed for more than 400 yards and eight TDs).

"Our kids have been looking forward to this game since we found out we were in this conference," said Pulaski Academy coach Kevin Kelley. "It's a challenge to play a team with as much tradition as Nashville. They know they are supposed to win every time they step on to the field."

WEEK 5 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
1-4A
Berryville at OZARK (16): Ozark's defense stopped Prairie Grove twice in the final three minutes to preserve last week's 14-8 decision. Hillbilly junior running back Asher Ree has gained almost 400 yards this year. Berryville was held to 26 yards in the first half against Shiloh Christian last week.
Farmington at PRAIRIE GROVE (1): This battle should decide playoff seeding. Farmington has beaten the Tigers three of the past four years by a total of 10 points.
Gentry at GRAVETTE (7): Gravette has shutout three opponents this season, including Pea Ridge 33-0 a week ago. Gentry's Austin Millsap scored the clinching TD as time expired and Tanner McCoy hit the winning extra-point in last week's 13-12 decision over Farmington.
Pea Ridge at SHILOH CHRISTIAN (35): Like last week's 48-14 win at Berryville, expect Shiloh Christian's starters to play only in the first half. The Saints racked up 394 yards in the first half against Berryville.

2-4A
Cave City at MARIANNA (6): Marianna gives up 36 points a game, and Cave City allows 42 points weekly. The Cavemen trailed talented Newport by only seven points late in the first half a week ago.
CLINTON (28) at Southside Batesville: Speedy Clinton averages 40 points per game. The Yellow Jackets have beaten Southside Batesville by an average of 52-13 the past two years.
LONOKE (2) at Newport: Undefeated Lonoke has won its four games by a total of 25 points. The Jackrabbits beat Heber Springs 21-18 last week, scoring a pair of TDs in the final three minutes. Newport has won the only two meetings over Lonoke this decade by a total of 95-6.
STUTTGART (1) at Heber Springs: Stuttgart has never lost to Heber Springs. Stuttgart recovered a late fumble to preserve last year's 15-12 triumph. Heber Springs led Lonoke 18-7 in the final three minutes last week, but lost 21-18. Heber Springs running back Markeyvus Mays generated almost 200 total yards against Lonoke.

3-4A
Jonesboro Westside at TRUMANN (24): Jonesboro Westside hasn't produced a winning season in 24 years. Trumann senior Justin Stevens ran for two TDs at Pocahontas last week.
OSCEOLA (1) at Gosnell: Gosnell hasn't beaten Osceola since 2003, losing six straight by an average of 35-12. Osceola sophomore Korliss Marshall ran for a career-high 143 yards and two TDs in last week's four-point loss to Valley View.
Pocahontas at VALLEY VIEW (8): Valley View must guard against a letdown after its first varsity victory over Osceola. The Blazers ran for almost 400 yards against the Seminoles. Pocahontas running back Luke Smith has rushed for almost 500 yards this year.
Highland is open.

4-4A
BOONEVILLE (8) at Pottsville: Booneville native and Pottsville coach Brian Rust has the Apaches ready for Booneville's attack. Pottsville has played Booneville better than any league opponent over the past two years, losing 36-22 in 2008 and 28-21 a year ago.
Clarksville at MENA (1): Undefeated Mena is the surprise of Class 4A. The Bearcats surrender just five points per game. Clarksville's dynamic offense features QB Trey Schucker (604 total yards, six TDs) and Wesleigh Foster (349 yards rushing, 17 yards per reception and 29 yards per kickoff return).
DOVER (6) at Subiaco Academy: Subiaco Academy played well at Booneville last week (23-7 loss). Dover QB Colton Williams has thrown five TD passes and ran for four this season.
Waldron at DARDANELLE (7): Both teams need a win to stay in the playoff hunt. Waldron has won just three games since 2007.

7-4A
ASHDOWN (28) at Bauxite: Ashdown's D hasn't allowed a point this year. The Panthers blasted previously unbeaten Pulaski Robinson by 24 points a week ago. Bauxite gives up 37 points per game and the Miners' only victory came at Class 2A Carlisle.
PULASKI OAK GROVE (14) at DeQueen: Pulaski Oak Grove trailed Pulaski Academy 21-20 at halftime last week. Hornet Running back Eric Parks churned out 139 yards last week. Winless DeQueen averages just six points per game.
MALVERN (7) at Pulaski Robinson: Both teams play excellent defense and feature big linemen. But Malvern playmakers James King and Dontail Henson help the Leopards average 28 points per game.
Nashville at PULASKI ACADEMY (1): Hootens.com Game of the Week.

8-4A
DeWitt at LAKE VILLAGE (10): DeWitt makes progress weekly, losing at Class 2A power Hazen by eight points in Week 2 and to Hamburg by 14 points a week ago. Lake Village has beaten DeWitt by a combined 64-34 over the past two years.
MCGEHEE (11)
at Hamburg: The winner likely makes the playoffs. Improved McGehee lost at Star City by eight points last week. Hamburg struggled but escaped winless DeWitt 21-7 a week ago.
DOLLARWAY (1) at Dumas: Dollarway must quickly focus after an emotional win over Warren last week. Dumas goes for just its third win in 12 years over the Cardinals. Dumas' Trey Winchester has scored eight TDs this fall.
Star City at WARREN (3): Star City hasn't beaten Warren since 2003, winning six straight by an average of 43-10. Warren trailed Dollarway 22-20 late last week before throwing an interception. Star City QB Ty Towers has rushed for almost 400 yards this year.
