HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 6 Pine Bluff at No. 1 West Memphis

West Memphis earned the luxury of resting in the first round of the playoffs by cruising through conference play unblemished.  Pine Bluff, however, suited up at home against Mountain Home.  The Zebras squashed any hope of a Bomber upset behind the play of Sonic Super Team quarterback Claude Johnson.  The senior exposed Mountain Home's secondary en route to a 40-6 victory.  Johnson complete nine of 12 passes for 281 yards and four touchdowns.  Junior wide out Justin Bishop flashed his 4.44 speed by hauling in TD catches of 51 and 77 yards.  The Zebras put the game away early by scoring on their second play from scrimmage.  Pine Bluff returns to West Memphis for the second time this season.  These two squared off Week 2 with West Memphis coming from behind to win 42-34.  The Zebras led 20-0 ten minutes into the game and led 34-14 early in the third before surrendering 28 unanswered points.  The Blue Devils exploded for 195 yards on the ground in the second half. Pine Bluff owns 6A's second longest win streak (5), which includes a win over previous No. 1 El Dorado. West Memphis boasts 6A's best scoring offense and defense.  The Blue Devils outscored 6A competition by an average 42-12.  In the 2008 postseason, 6A teams who earned first-round byes went 2-2.  In first round of the 2009 playoffs, the winning teams outscored opponents 152-40 with home teams winning three of four.

WEEK 12 GAMES (favored team in all CAPS followed by point spread)
Pine Bluff at WEST MEMPHIS (8): Game of the Week.  The Zebras seek revenge against a West Memphis squad who dominated 6A East opponents 291-58.

Texarkana at EL DORADO (10): One of two rematches of regular-season games in the second round.  El Dorado stumbles into the playoffs after an upset loss to streaky Pine Bluff. In Week 5, El Dorado capitalized on four Texarkana turnovers to capture a 14-13 victory.  Texarkana outgained the Wildcats 368-277 in the loss with junior QB Kierra Harris completing 10 of 19 passes for 186 yards.  Texarkana entered the playoffs on a two-game winning streak, including a 21-18 win over second seed Lake Hamilton.  In the first round, Texarkana traveled to Marion and defeated the Patriots 28-13.  Junior tailback Charles Hillis paced the Razorbacks with 112 yards and three TDs.  Texarkana was the only 6A team to win on the road in the first round.

WATSON CHAPEL (6) at Jonesboro: Fans should expect an offensive shootout.  Watson Chapel and Jonesboro rank second and fourth, respectively, in scoring offense.  All-purpose 'back Kowan Wright leads Jonesboro.  Watson Chapel blasted Searcy 42-7 in the first round.  Senior C.J. Branch accounted for five TDs (four passing, one rushing) for the Wildacats. Defensively, the Wildcats snatched two interceptions.  Watson Chapel's two losses this year are by a combined seven points, including a 38-35 loss to Lake Hamilton after the Wildcats led 35-20. Since that loss, Watson Chapel has outscored opponents 154-20.

LR Parkview at LAKE HAMILTON (14): LR Parkview won its first playoff game in 26 years last week by thrashing Sheridan 42-12.  Seniors Benjamin Anderson and Chris Giles combined for 456 yards and six TDs for the Patriots.  Anderson also threw for 141 yards and rushed for 117.  After an 0-2 start in conference play, Parkview won four of its last five. Defending state champion Lake Hamilton stumbled into the playoffs by dropping two of its last three.  The losses came to El Dorado and Texarkana with a win against LR Fair.  Senior QB Benson Jordan paces an offense that averaged 28 points per game in conference play.  The Wolves are 3-0 at home in the playoffs over the last two seasons.
