No. 2 Lake Hamilton at No. 3 Sylvan Hills
Sylvan Hills is in the semifinals for the second time in three seasons. The 2020 Bears won their first league title since 2004. Sylvan Hills rides a seven-game winning streak into this game and the Bears' losses this season came to Class 7A Little Rock Catholic, Class 5A power Maumelle and at Marion. Sylvan Hills forged its second shutout of the season in last week's seven-point quarterfinal victory over Little Rock Parkview. Senior tailback D.J. Smith ran 5 yards for the game's only score with 7:11 in the second quarter. Sylvan Hills intercepted a pair of Parkview passes, including a Shajuan Esteen pick near his goal line with 3:15 remaining in regulation. Sincere Houston and Matthew Spencer combined for a sack to snuff another Parkview drive. Sylvan Hills gets big plays from quarterback Corey Washington and slotbacks Taevion Cunningham, Smith and Xavior Okafor.
Lake Hamilton is in the semifinals for the first time since 2011, also the last season the Wolves played for the state championship. Lake Hamilton led El Dorado 29-14 last week at halftime of a game the Wolves won 50-14. Lake Hamilton ran for 396 yards against El Dorado, with juniors Tevin Woodley (215 yards with a TD) and Owen Miller (121 yards and two scores) leading the charge. Junior QB Grant Bearden completed six of nine passes for 94 yards and a TD against El Dorado. Senior tackle Chase Jessup leads a talented, seasoned offensive line that paves the way for 374 rushing yards per week. Sophomore Jamarrion Byrd topped the tackle chart with 20 stops while seniors Izaiah Clenney and Trent Singleton recorded 17 and 10 stops, respectively.

LAST WEEK

TOP HALF OF BRACKET
Marion at GREENWOOD (32): This is the third playoff meeting between these schools. Greenwood eliminated Marion 44-34 in the 2005 quarterfinals and 42-3 in the 2015 quarters. Marion is in the semifinals for the second time in school history and the Patriots are the second No. 6 seed to advance to the Class 6A semis, joining 2018 Sylvan Hills. Marion outgained Van Buren 527-423 in last week's 55-34 victory over Van Buren, sparked by senior tailback Brandon Mackey's 348 yards rushing and three TDs, including an 89-yard scoring sprint. Brandon Hayes, Carter Waldo and Antonio Grays topped Marion with six tackles apiece.  Greenwood is in the semifinals at least for the sixth straight season. The Bulldogs have won nine state championships since 2000, including Class 6A crowns in 2012, 2017 and 2018. Greenwood improved to 12-0 in a 49-13 victory a week ago over Mountain Home behind sophomore QB Hunter Houston, who fired four TD passes in relief of senior signal-caller L.D. Richmond. Houston completed 11 of 12 passes for 182 yards. Greenwood amassed 455 yards and scored TDs on seven straight possessions. Senior tailback Hunter Wilkinson ran for 137 yards and scored four TDs.
