HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 4 North LR at No. 1 Bentonville.
North LR lost at home to Bentonville 49-14 in the season opener but last week North LR all-conference quarterback Kaylon Cooper announced "we are going to win a championship this year." North LR's confidence appears real after rallying from 17 points down last week. The Charging Wildcats, in the semifinals for the second time in three seasons, ride a six-game winning streak after beating Springdale Har-Ber 41-37 last Friday. North LR scores 33 points with 458 yards per game (261 yards rushing). Cooper completes 56 percent of his passes for 1,699 yards (17 touchdowns with eight interceptions) and has 774 yards rushing. Senior running back Kendall Williams (4.6 speed; 38-inch vertical jump) has 1,132 yards rushing, gaining 8.2 yards a touch.
Bentonville has won 24 straight, downing West Memphis 42-14 last week. The Tigers outscore opponents 45-9, racking up 408 yards offense (247 yards passing) weekly. Bentonville has a plus-18 turnover margin and its smallish defense allows just 265 yards per game. Senior quarterback Dallas Hardison (2,548 yards passing) completes 74 percent of his tosses with 34 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
"Bentonville's offensive line against North Little Rock's front seven will be interesting," says Har-Ber coach Chris Wood, whose team lost Week 10 at Bentonville 28-14. "North Little Rock is a lot better than they were Week 1. They have a better feel and grasp on defense. Bentonville's receivers will challenge North Little Rock's secondary and Bentonville's defense just doesn't make mistakes."

Fayetteville at FS SOUTHSIDE (7): Fayetteville has won nine of the past 10 meetings, including 31-28 earlier this season and 24-21 in the 2010 semifinals. Fayetteville totaled 563 yards and its defense scored a shutout in the second half of last week's 49-28 win at Conway. Fayetteville has won 10 games in consecutive seasons for the first time and junior quarterback Austin Allen has set a school record with 40 touchdown passes this season. FS Southside trailed FS Northside 17-14 at halftime a week ago before winning 41-24. The two teams join Bentonville as the only 7A West members with a positive turnover margin. FS Southside had three turnovers against Fayetteville Week 7 but has committed just one in its past four games.
