HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 1 Bentonville at No. 4 Heritage.
Heritage lost three games in 2009, two heartbreakers and a 56-27 blowout at Bentonville. This fall the War Eagles trailed at Class 5A Siloam Springs in the fourth quarter and lost to Conway but have beaten thin FS Northside and Rogers by a combined 96-30. Undefeated Bentonville is better tested with wins over Texarkana, Texas, talented Fayetteville and rival Fort Smith Southside. The Tigers finished Fayetteville 38-34 in overtime and overcame serious distractions last week to beat FS Southside 35-10 on homecoming night. "We've had a real tough stretch," says Bentonville coach Barry Lunney. "It's been a taxing month. I'm really proud of our kids." Defensive end Chase Gogel, linebacker Chris McKane and cornerback Dakota Baggett lead a Bentonville defense that has only one player 6-feet or taller. Heritage three-year starting quarterback Reed Brown completed 15 of 23 passes for 228 yards in the first half last week against cross-town rival Rogers High.

Hooten's Arkansas Football airs 11 a.m. Saturdays on Fox 16 and KFSM TV 5. Games scheduled to be featured this week include Bentonville at Heritage, Springdale at FS Southside, LR Central at Conway, North LR at Cabot and Van Buren at LR Catholic.

LAST WEEK
Hootens.com correctly predicted nine of 10 games involving Class 7A members. For the season, Hootens.com has correctly predicted 39 of 47 games (83 percent).

WEEK 6 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
7A/6A CENTRAL
LR Central at CONWAY (21): As predicted, LR Central ended a 25-game losing streak last week with a 28-27 overtime win over Russellville. Conway is 5-0 for the first time since 2002 and headed for 10-0. The Wampus Cats applied the mercy rule last week at speedy North LR.
North LR at CABOT (1): Cabot struggled last week beating LR Catholic 41-29. North LR mercy-ruled LR Catholic three weeks ago.
Hooten's will have highlights 11 a.m. Saturday on Fox 16.
BRYANT (14) at Russellville: Bryant has more speed and depth in its backfield (four quality running backs) than any Saline County school since Bauxite (Aaron Halpain and Dan Dawson) won the 1996 Class 2A state title. Bryant senior stud defensive end Josh Hampton (6-2, 265) will bolster the rushing attack, playing more offense in coming weeks. Bryant coach Paul Calley's risky but successful onside kick call gave the Hornets momentum for good last week in what had been a back-and-forth battle with Van Buren. Russellville has beaten Bryant the past two seasons and gets better with the return of its QB from injury.
VAN BUREN (1) at LR Catholic: Van Buren QB Tyler Spoon, who has posted career highs the past two weeks totaling 600 yards passing, could have another big night. LR Catholic's big, twisting and stunting defense is normally feast or famine.
Hooten's will have highlights 11 a.m. Saturday on Fox 16 and KFSM TV 5.

7A WEST
BENTONVILLE (4) at Heritage: Game of the Week.
Hooten's will have highlights 11 a.m. Saturday on KFSM TV 5.
Rogers at HAR-BER (35): Defending state champ Har-Ber won 27-14 at Rogers in 2009. It won't be that close at halftime this week. Rogers has failed to find the endzone in three games this fall but kicker Austin Griffin has nailed a field goal in both of its conference losses.
Springdale at FS SOUTHSIDE (7): Springdale committed four turnovers that led to 24 points and Coach Shane Patrick said his team didn't play hard in last week's 30-point loss to Fayetteville. Taller receivers challenge FS Southside's secondary.
Hooten's will have highlights 11 a.m. Saturday on KFSM TV 5.
FS Northside at FAYETTEVILLE (14): Two great QBs meet. Fayetteville's Brandon Allen (Arkansas Razorback commit) and Northside's Tanner Knight are fun to watch. Northside's undersized linemen continue to give Knight (32 of 48 for 417 yards and three TDs last week against Har-Ber) just enough time to torch opponents. Fayetteville's defense is much improved with new line coach Jeb Huckeba teaching better pad level.

7A/6A EAST
WEST MEMPHIS (18) at Searcy: West Memphis piled up 325 yards rushing in last week's 28-20 win over Marion and Coach Lanny Dauksch's teams normally hit full stride in October. Searcy senior Jacob Mowrer ran 8 yards for the game-winning TD in overtime last week to spoil LR Parkview's homecoming.
JACKSONVILLE (12)
at LR Hall: Jacksonville beat LR Hall 40-6 a year ago but speedy Hall just snapped a 13-game losing streak, winning last week at Mountain Home 50-35.
Hooten's will have highlights 11 a.m. Saturday on Fox 16.
