No. 2 Malvern at Class 6A No. 5 Lake Hamilton
These former conference foes (members of the former 5AAA-South from 1979-1990 and the AAAA-Southwest from 1993-1999) are now two classifications apart. Lake Hamilton won the last meeting 38-7 in 2004. Lake Hamilton's Ethan Johnson kicked a 20-yard field goal with 28.2 seconds left last week to pull out a 27-26 win at Hot Springs.

Malvern beat Glen Rose 38-0 a week ago, clearing the bench early in the third quarter. Three Malvern touchdowns were negated by penalty and the Leopards missed three extra point attempts. Leopard junior quarterback Trace Collie threw four TD passes when Glen Rose crowded the line of scrimmage with nine defenders. Senior running back Monte Hernandez ran 10 times for 78 yards, while senior receiver Devin Bradford hauled in four passes for 171 yards and three TDs. "We are small and fast, and Lake Hamilton's linemen are huge," Malvern coach Mike Scarbrough says. "We've got to execute and cut out the silly penalties." TV SHOW
Hooten's Arkansas Football TV show airs 10::30 a.m. Saturdays this fall on KATV 7 (ABC-Little Rock) and at 8:30 a.m. KXNW (Ch. 34 Fort Smith/Fayetteville). The show features the state's top recruiting prospects. Arkansas Baptist offensive lineman Caleb Bonge will be featured as the Air Guard Scholar Athlete of the Week.

FIRST BAPTIST ACADEMY (NAPLES, FLA.) (8) at Shiloh Christian: First Baptist Academy plays its third game of the year after losing to Saint Edwards and Ida Baker the past two weeks. The FBA Lions are two-time conference champs in Florida. Shiloh Christian sophomore QB Conner Reece passed for 198 yards and a TD in last week's 28-point loss to Class 3A No. 2 Charleston.

Gravette at MAYFLOWER (3): Mayflower plays its second straight Class 4A opponent. The Eagles beat Dumas by five points last week, while Gravette turned the ball over five times in a 26-point loss to Pottsville. Gravette senior Cedric Duarte ran 23 times for 159 yards and a TD against Pottsville.

Lincoln at KEYS (PARK HILL, OKLA.) (12): The Keys Cougars lost to Checotah by 29 points last week, while Lincoln lost to HS Lakeside 36-0. Lincoln all-conference receiver Alec Pitts played sparingly, recording just one carry.

Green Forest at PEA RIDGE (1): These teams have split the past four meetings, with three of the games decided by a TD or less. Pea Ridge running back Shane Ivy ran 20 yards on the first play of last week's 21-6 win over Elkins, but missed the rest of the game with a leg injury. The Blackhawks ran for 210 yards against Elkins.
FARMINGTON (7)
at Huntsville: Huntsville hasn't beaten Farmington since 2003. Farmington recovered a late fumble to preserve its seven-point win at Prairie Grove a week ago, while Huntsville humbled Green Forest 25-15.
WEST FORK (7)
at Berryville: West Fork's Brayden Burnett returned a fumble for a TD on the opening play in last week's 42-16 win over Gentry. Berryville senior Aiden Brummett ran for 145 yards and a TD a week ago against Decatur (36-19 Berryville win).
Gentry at CHARLESTON (18): Gentry usually plays well against Charleston, winning by two TDs in 2010, and losing by 15 points in 2009 and eight points in 2011 and 2013. Gentry's Jonathan Brown ran 14 times for 77 yards in last week's 26-point loss against West Fork.

NEWPORT (21)
at Greene Co. Tech: Newport junior Carl Turner ran for 230 yards in last week's 15-point win over Nettleton. Greene County Tech failed to score last week against Searcy.
WEST HELENA (6)
at Marianna: Marianna has won two straight games, dating back to last season, after last week's 38-0 triumph at Augusta. Their previous victory was by nine points over West Helena in Week 2, 2010. West Helena beat Marianna by 39 points a year ago.
LONOKE (4)
at Beebe: Lonoke has beaten Beebe four of the past five seasons. Lonoke trailed Star City by four points at halftime last week but lost by 15 points. Beebe had trouble slowing Greenbrier's rushing attack in last week's 19-point loss.

WARREN (30)
at Stuttgart: Warren receiver Jaylon Marshall won't play after getting ejected in the first quarter of last week's 29-22 setback to Class 7A Fort Smith Southside. Warren running back Kilay Cox ran 18 times for 94 yards and a TD against FS Southside. Stuttgart junior receiver Malik Brasfield caught a 21-yard TD in last week's 29-point loss to Arkadelphia.

CAC at PULASKI ROBINSON (7): These neighbors split the past two meetings, with Pulaski Robinson scoring twice in the final minute to win by nine points last season. The Senators held Bauxite to one first down last week.

Southside Batesville at BALD KNOB (7): This is the first meeting between these teams since Bald Knob won 47-6 Week 10, 2009. Bald Knob QB Grant Glaze accounted for two TDs in last week's eight-point win at Des Arc.
RIVERVIEW (2)
at Walnut Ridge: This is the first meeting between these teams. Riverview lost to Pocahontas by 32 points last week, while Walnut Ridge stumbled at Corning by 12 points.
GREENBRIER (7)
at Heber Springs: Heber Springs forced five turnovers and didn't commit any in last week's 13-point win over rival Clinton. Heber Springs junior Edgar Torres forced a fumble, intercepted a pass and both of his touches on offense resulted in first downs. Greenbrier converted six two-point attempts against Beebe.

HIGHLAND (12)
at Clinton: Highland has won two straight over Clinton. Highland senior receiver Deon Stewart caught a TD pass against Midland (Texas) Christian. Clinton turned the ball over five times in a 13-point loss at Heber Springs.

Osceola at GOSNELL (14): These former conference rivals have split the past four meetings. Gosnell's T.J. Anderson swung momentum last week at Harding Academy with a 35-yard interception return for a TD.
Paragould at POCAHONTAS (7): Paragould's 19-0 win over the Redskins last season snapped a three-game losing streak in the series. Pocahontas beat Paragould by a combined 30 points from 2010-2012.
MELBOURNE (2)
at Cave City: Melbourne has beaten Cave City by a combined 63-21 the past two seasons. Cave City has won four of its past five games (dating back to last season) after beating rival Southside Batesville 20-15 last week.
HOXIE (7)
at Jonesboro Westside: These schools are separated by just 20 miles, but they haven't played since being members of the former 3AA-north from 1993-1997 (Hoxie won three of the five meetings). Hoxie's D played well in last week's 42-6 win over Trumann.
Manila at TRUMANN (21): Trumann's offense sputtered in last week's 36-point loss at Hoxie. Trumann hasn't won on the field (received a forfeit last season) since Week 5, 2011.
Brookland at MOUNTAIN VIEW (1): Brookland has won all six of its non conference games in school history, including last year's one-point win at Mountain View. The Bearcats beat Class 2A Clarendon by four points last week, while improved Mountain View spanked Salem by 18 points.
Harrisburg at MARKED TREE (15): Harrisburg trailed Cross County 42-8 in the first quarter last week and didn't force a punt. Marked Tree held Piggott to 225 total yards last week.


4-4A

BOONEVILLE (7)
at Dardanelle: Hootens.com Class 3A game of the week. Dardanelle hasn't beaten Booneville since 2007. Booneville's starting halfbacks may not play (Matt Berry is a game-time decision with an ankle sprain, while Josh Smith won't play until Week 4 because of a suspension).
MORRILTON (3)
at Pottsville: Pottsville turned the ball over four times but beat Gravette by 26 points last week. Apache running back Josh Dugger ran eight times for 127 yards a week ago. Morrilton QB Jalen Wright ran nine times for 103 yards in last week's 21-point loss at Russellville.
HIGHLAND (12)
at Clinton: Highland has won two straight over Clinton. Highland senior receiver Deon Stewart caught a TD pass against Midland (Texas) Christian. Clinton turned the ball over five times in a 13-point loss at Heber Springs.

CLARKSVILLE (1)
at Ozark: These former conference foes split the past six meetings, with Clarksville winning 20-12 a year ago. Ozark trailed rival Booneville 7-3 at halftime last week before losing by 24 points, while Clarksville lost its debut under first-year coach Eli Cranor by 28 points to Class 3A Lamar.
Cross County at ARKANSAS BAPTIST (14): Cross County scored 42 points in the first quarter against Harrisburg last week. Arkansas Baptist senior QB Riley Perkins passed for 331 yards and four scores against CAC.
Cedarville at DOVER (21): Dover impressed with 51-point outburst last week at Atkins. Dover has won three straight games, dating to last season.
LAMAR (18)
at Subiaco Academy: Lamar has beaten Subiaco Academy the past three seasons. Lamar QB Braxton Sampley passed for 298 yards and three TDS in last week's 28-point win at Clarksville. Subiaco Academy senior Christian Lowery ran for 102 yards and a TD in a 41-6 win over Class 5A LR Fair.


7-4A

De Queen at NASHVILLE (35): Nashville has won three straight (including 28-21 in the 2011 playoffs) over De Queen. Scrapper sophomore Darius Hopkins ran for 225 yards and three TDs last week against Hope.
MALVERN (6)
at Lake Hamilton: Hootens.com Class 4A Game of the Week.
Sheridan at ARKADELPHIA (10): Arkadelphia has beaten Sheridan by a combined 104-22 the past two seasons. But Sheridan keeps it closer this fall with an improved D. Yellowjacket juniors Chris Wheeler and Brady Bibb combined for 18 tackles in last week's 21-point win over LR McClellan. Arkadelphia junior Ty Kosters scored three TDs in a 15-minute span last week against Stuttgart.
ASHDOWN (3)
at Hope: Ashdown has won three of four in the series since in renewed in 2010. Ashdown recorded two safeties, and senior La'Montrick Turner ran for a pair of TDs in last week's 17-pint win at Durant, Okla. Hope's D never slowed slowed Nashville in Week 1.
Jessieville at FOUNTAIN LAKE (17): Fountain Lake has won the past five meetings by an average of 35 points. The Cobras hung 40 points on Class 5A LR Christian a week ago, as junior fullback Parker Ross ran for 321 yards and five TDs.
HOT SPRINGS (3)
at Mena: Hot Springs has lost six straight season openers, but they've rebounded with wins over Mena the past two years. The Trojans led Lake Hamilton late last week before giving up the winning field goal in the final minute.
BAUXITE (7)
at Glen Rose: Bauxite has won just four games over the past three seasons, but one was a 19-point triumph over Glen Rose in 2011. Bauxite senior Ben Madison ran 73 yards for a TD, returned a kickoff 90 yards for a score and intercepted two passes near the goal line at Pulaski Robinson. PARIS (28)
at Waldron: Waldron hasn't won since beating Subiaco Academy Week 7, 2011. Paris has beaten Waldron by an average of 34 points the past four seasons.

WARREN (30)

at Forrest City: Dollarway senior running back Keyshawn Williams ran for three TDs in last week's 24-point win at West Helena. Forrest City led Class 7A West Memphis 21-20 at halftime last week and 41-34 in the final seconds before West Memphis scored the winning TD and two-point conversion with no time left on the clock. Mustang QB Jamal Turner passed for 247 yards against West Memphis.
Lake Village at STAR CITY (31): These are former conference foes. Star City won all six contests between 2008-2013, with the closest a three-point triumph in 2008. Star City senior Dajuan Harris returned a fumble 60 yards for a TD at Lonoke last week.

CAMDEN FAIRVIEW (10)
at Hamburg: Class 5A Game of the Week. Camden Fairview coach Mike Cox returns to Hamburg, where he won 18 games the past three years.
MAGNOLIA (6)
at Monticello: These teams played for the 1994 state championship.Monticello sophomore QB Jeff Carmical passed for 184 yards and two TDs and ran for another in last week's 12-point win over Lake Village.
McGehee at DUMAS (1): These are former conference foes. Dumas hasn't won a non conference game since beating Fordyce Week 2, 2010.

Carlisle at DEWITT (10): DeWitt hung with Class 3A state title contender Episcopal, trailing 15-6 early in the fourth quarter. Carlisle lost to Class 2A England by 32 points a week ago.

Crossett at FORDYCE (6): Crossett hasn't beaten a non conference opponent other than Magnolia since Week 3, 2009. Fordyce failed to convert on fourth down late in the fourth quarter of last week's four-point loss at rival Rison.
