CONWAY - The University of Central Arkansas Bears are set for their second scrimmage of the spring at 3 p.m. Saturday at Estes Stadium.

"Our players are looking forward to the second major scrimmage of the spring," UCA head coach Clint Conque said. "This scrimmage will mark the 10th practice of 15 sessions and our team is a little beat up. Being the 10th practice, naturally we are starting to see minor injuries. Our depth will be challenged in this scrimmage but we have much to work on.

"This is an extremely important evaluation and improvement opportunity for this team. It is our hope as a coaching staff to get approximately 120 scrimmage snaps with additional work in the kicking game, as well as work in our two-minute and four-minute situations.

"It's very important that we work fast and clean. Probably more so than any practice or scrimmage, this evaluation will be significant in shaping the depth chart heading into the summer."

The scrimmage will feature Southland Conference officials for the fifth consecutive year, as they conclude their annual officials clinic on the UCA campus. The scrimmage is open to the public with free admission.
