JONESBORO - Arkansas State sophomore quarterback Ryan Aplin was named the Sun Belt Conference Offensive Player of the Week, earning the weekly honor for the third time this year after recording two passing touchdowns, a pair of rushing scores and 298 yards of total offense during the Red Wolves' game Saturday at Indiana.

Aplin was responsible for a career-best four touchdowns, which is also the most by any Sun Belt player this season. His two passing touchdowns gave him 12 for the season, tying the 10th most in school history. He also has six rushing touchdowns this year, the most by an ASU?quarterback since the 2002 season.

The Tampa, Fla. native completed a school-record 33 passes on 44 attempts for a .750 percentage and moved into eighth place all-time at A-State for completions in a season with 150. He completed at least one pass to a season-tying nine different receivers, including a school-record 12 completions to junior wide receiver Dwayne Frampton.

Aplin passed for 275 yards, his third most in a game this year, and added 23 rushing yards to complete the game with 298 yards of total offense. He has now thrown for over 200 yards in six of the Red Wolves' seven games. During the game, he moved into eighth place all-time at A-State for passing yards in a season with 1,897 to his credit. His 298 yards of total offense gave him a Sun Belt Conference best 2,079 yards that are also the eighth most in school history.

An ASU?player has received one of the Sun Belt's weekly honors five times this year. In addition to Aplin's three selections, senior safety M.D. Jennings and senior linebacker Javon McKinnon have both been named the league's Defensive Player of the Week once.

ASU will host Florida Atlantic on Saturday at noon in the first of three consecutive home games. Tickets for ASU's remaining three home games are on sale and may be ordered by contacting the ASU Box Office at 870-972-ASU1 or 1-888-ASU-FANS or by visiting AStateRedWolves.com.
