A top-10 battle. Undefeated Ashdown has outscored Monticello and Hope in the first half this season by a combined 86-0. The Panthers led Class 5A Hope 46-0 at halftime last week. Senior LaDarrius Bishop (Mississippi State commit) caught a 40-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Jaden Hill (LSU baseball commit) in the first half. Bishop  then scored two defensive TDs (66-yard interception return and 26-yard fumble return). “He's the best athlete in the state,” Coach Matt Richardson says. Senior center Alex Simmons (5-11, 275) leds a small, but veteran line. Ashdown has 17 seniors this fall, compared to six last season. Hamburg lost the opener by 20 points to No. 2 Pea Ridge, but rebounded last week with a two-point win over Class 5A Camden Fairview. Hamburg junior Derrick Webb returned an interception for a TD senior Allen Forrest caught his second TD of the year , a 27-yarder, for the game-winner. “Hamburg has talent and speed,” Richardson says. “Our key is to make good tackles and give our playmakers a chance.”

PRAIRIE GROVE (35) at West Fork: Prairie Grove has won seven straight over West Fork, including the past six by an average of 38 points. Tiger senior Anthony Johnson ran for 129 yards and two TDs in last week's 20-point win over Vian, Okla. Winless West Fork has been outscored 77-6 this season.
Farmington at PEA RIDGE (10): Pea Ridge didn't play last week after winning twice in Week 1 (beat Hamburg and Booneville by a combined 79-39). But Class 5A Farmington has won six of the past nine over its former conference rival. Farmington ran for 378 yards in last week's 30-point win over Huntsville.
SHILOH CHRISTIAN (7) at Pottsville: Shiloh Christian's offense was stagnant (gained just 217 yards) in last week's 20-point loss to Class 5A No. 3 Little Rock Christian. But the Saints should find some open passing lanes against physical Pottsville. Pottsville junior Kade England ran for 200 yards and three TDs in last week's 47-27 win over Class 5A Vilonia.
Jay, Okla. at GRAVETTE (3): Undefeated Jay, Okla. outscores opponents 39-20 this fall. Gravette averages 296 yards per game (198 yards rushing). Gravette junior QB Tajae White has 196 yards passing (two TDs, one INT) and 123 yards rushing this year.
