STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
No. 1 Shiloh Christian vs. No. 2 Joe T. Robinson

Shiloh Christian, once a mainstay in state title games, returns to War Memorial Stadium for the first time since capping a three-year championship run in 2010. he Saints have won seven state crowns since 1998, and finished as runners-up in 1997, 2000 and 2007.

The Saints average 489 yards and 52 points per game (second in the state, best in Class 4A). Senior quarterback Eli Reece split snaps last fall, but has flourished this year as the primary trigger man. Reece completes 265 of 368 passes this year (72 percent) for 3,918 yards and 41 touchdowns with five interceptions (two of them in last week's 49-14 semifinal win at Crossett).

Senior Truitt Tollett has a state-best 117 receptions this year for 1,868 yards and 29 TDs (one away from tying the state record). He scorched Crossett last week for 117 yards and two TDs. Junior Cam Wiedemann has emerged as the top running back the past month. He ran 18 times for 171 yards and a pair of TDs at Crossett and has scored 10 TDs in the past three weeks. Wiedemann has rushed for 1,212 yards this fall. 

The Saint defense dominated Crossett, forcing six three-and-outs in the first half while building a 35-0 advantage.

Joe T. Robinson is in the state title game for the second straight season (lost to Arkadelphia 28-0 last year). Its only state title came in 1980, when Coach Todd Eskola served as ball boy in a 26-6 title win at De Queen.

The Senators' only loss this fall was 28-27 to Arkadelphia in Week 5. They trailed Ozark 7-0 late in the first quarter in last week's semifinal when junior safety Caleb Sanders returned an interception 60 yards for the momentum-changing TD. Junior QB Buddy Gaston threw 55- and 45-yard TD passes to senior Martel Nunley in the first half, and finished with 264 yards and four TDs with no interceptions. He's completed 60 percent of his passes this fall for 2,706 yards and 38 TDs. Junior running back Hunter Smith has rushed for 1,709 yards and 18 TDs despite missing two games with a shoulder injury. Senior P.J. Hall paces the Senators with 51 catches for 1,083 yards and 17 TDs, while Nunally has 47 catches for 845 yards and eight TDs.

Senior linebacker Chandler McIntosh leads the Joe T. Robinson with 197 tackles, 45 tackles for loss and 12 sacks, while classmate and fellow linebacker J.T. Towers has 160 tackles, including 43 tackles for loss. Hall, playing the last line of defense at free safety, has 63 stops, two interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries.
