CHAMPIONSHIP GAME RECAP
Arkadelphia became the first team in state history to overcome an 0-5 start and win a state title. It is the only team to beat four No. 1 seeds in the playoffs and only the second team (El Dorado in 2013 was the other) to win a state championship with five losses. Junior QB Cannon Turner earned title game MVP, rushing 13 times for 127 yards and a TD and completed two of three passes for 44 yards and a TD. Turner also recorded a pair of tackles at linebacker. The Badgers didn't lose after Turner became a starter on defense in October, and the first-team defense shut out four of five playoff opponents. Joe T. Robinson fumbled eight times in the rain, losing two of them. Senior Mekel Kentle paced the Senators with 21 carries for 88 yards and logged a team-high eight tackles.  Arkadelphia opened the season ranked No. 3; Joe T. Robinson began at No. 2.
