CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
Greenwood won its ninth state title (2000, 2005-2007, 2010-2012, 2017) in school history in a 45-14 rout against Benton. It's the eighth title under Coach Rick Jones, which ties Jones for second in state history with legendary Barton coach Frank McClellan. Greenwood senior quarterback Peyton Holt earned Class 6A title game MVP by racking up 368 yards and five touchdowns. Holt stood out in last year's title win against Pine Bluff, catching 14 passes for 200 yards and two scores. Greenwood ends the season on a 12-game winning streak and its only loss was to Class 7A semifinalist Fort Smith Northside. Greenwood opened the season No. 2 in Hooten's Arkansas Football.  Benton appeared in its first final since 2014, and just the second since 1977. Benton's three losses this season were to Class 7A state champion Bryant and Greenwood twice. Senior running back Zak Wallace exits Benton rushing for more than 2,700 career yards. Senior lineman Joshua George is a Central Arkansas commit. Benton opened the season No. 3 in Hooten's Arkansas Football.
