CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
No. 1 Bentonville vs. No. 2 Fayetteville.
It should be close. Bentonville beat Fayetteville in the conference opener 38-34 in overtime at Bentonville.

Arkansas' big school passing record holder Brandon Allen (9,793 yards) continues to carry Fayetteville. A week ago, the Arkansas Razorback commit calmly directed a 63-yard touchdown drive in 23 seconds to win 24-21 at FS Southside. Fayetteville has won 10 games for only the second time in school history. The Purple Dogs won their only state title in 2007 with a 9-3-1 record.

"It's been an outstanding coaching job at Fayetteville and Brandon Allen takes the players around him to another level," says Har-Ber coach Chris Wood, whose team beat Fayetteville with a kick return as time expired. "Bentonville is very efficient running and passing. Their kicking game is outstanding and their defense doesn't hurt them. They do a great job playing to their strengths. Bentonville hasn't played any close games this year except Fayetteville. If it's a close game in the fourth quarter, that would be out of Bentonville's comfort level. I wouldn't bet against Brandon Allen."

Hootens.com preseason 7A favorite Bentonville belted West conference coaches pick Har-Ber 49-20 last week. Junior standout QB Dallas Hardison ran for two TDs and passed for two more scores. It was the Tigers' second win over Har-Ber in a month.

Bentonville, playing for its second state title in three years, outscores opponents 47-18.
