HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 11 Heber Springs at No. 5 Pulaski Robinson
Pulaski Robinson returns to the playoffs for the first time since 2007. The Senators finished second in the 7-4A this season, losing only at Ashdown and Pulaski Academy. With 20 seniors on its roster, Pulaski Robinson trailed Pulaski Academy by a point in the third quarter before losing 55-40 in Week 9. They rebounded with a convincing 38-6 triumph over Pulaski Oak Grove a week ago. Senior running back Jaalen Watkins has rushed for 1,283 yards and 17 touchdowns this year, while senior quarterback Cole Bulloch has developed into a big-play threat reading/running the option. Senior receiver Evain Hill didn't play last season but has gained college attention over the past month. Hill has almost 500 yards receiving and eight TDs and rushed for 500 yards. "They have three really good 'backs," said Heber Springs coach Steve Janski. "They don't do a lot, but they do it well." Senior linebacker Beau Digby paces the Senators 113 tackles.

Heber Springs has advanced to the quarterfinals each of the past two seasons. Junior running back Markeyvus Mays set the school's all-time rushing record with 1,745 yards and 24 TDs this season and he's generated more than 2,000 all-purpose yards. Mays touched the ball nine times and scored seven TDs in last week's 54-22 win over Cave City. Junior QB Michael Ludwig missed three games with a knee injury earlier in the year, but the Panthers are undefeated when he plays a full game. Senior tackle Jimbo Bodron has scholarship offers from Alabama A&M and Lamar, while linebacker Mason Williams tops the Panthers in tackles.
