HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 2 Arkadelphia at No. 7 Malvern
The winner gets at least a share of the conference title. Malvern hasn't won a league crown since 1997, while Arkadelphia's last came when it shared the former AAA-Southwest with Malvern in 1995.

Malvern must regroup after its first loss of the season last week, 52-21 at Nashville. "We've got to work on fundamentals," Coach John Fogleman said. "Our tackling was horrendous and we didn't play good up front. Nashville is athletic, and the speed of the game caught up to us." Malvern senior quarterback Austin Warford has passed for almost 1,600 yards and 16 touchdowns this year, and he's rushed for almost 800 yards and 10 scores.

Arkadelphia has won three straight games since losing at CAC 7-0 in Week 6. Junior Kris Oliver moved to quarterback after junior Jakahri Howell broke his leg against CAC. Oliver, one of four Badgers who lines up at QB in games, has rushed for 1,225 yards and 19 TDs this year. Oliver threw for 134 yards in last week's 60-6 win over Bauxite. Sophomore Emmanuel Cooper fills in running back when Oliver plays QB, and Cooper leads a stout defensive line. "You can't block him," Arkadelphia coach J.R. Eldridge said. The Badgers allowed just 90 yards against CAC, and no team has rushed for more than 40 yards the past three weeks. "Our entire defense is playing well as a group," Eldridge said. "Nobody stands out, it's a group effort." Junior middle linebacker Jahlon Mitchell tops Arkadelphia's tackle chart. Senior cornerback Rashad Young and free safety Darius Holt lock down the secondary.

WEEK 10 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)

FARMINGTON (6) at Lincoln: Farmington hasn't scored since beating Gravette 34-27 Week 7. The Cardinals get in the playoffs for the ninth straight season if they wins or Gravette losses to Prairie Grove. Clinton at LONOKE (18): Lonoke stunned previously unbeaten and top-ranked Stuttgart 28-7 a week ago. But the Jackrabbits are the No. 5 playoff seed. Lonoke has improved since shifting senior D.J. Burton to QB (four total TDs last week). Clinton misses the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
NEWPORT (13) at Southside Batesville: Newport finishes as the No. 3 playoff seed with a victory. The Greyhounds led Marianna 42-0 in the middle of the second quarter last week.
