HOOTENS.COM GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 7 Marion at No. 4 Jonesboro
This game has been decided by three points or less three of the past four years with Jonesboro winning the past two by a combined four points.

Marion comes off a lackluster 27-6 win over Little Rock Hall. The Patriots led by 15 points in the fourth quarter until sophomore quarterback Kody Frasure passed 5 yards to junior Desante Hampton for a touchdown. Junior running back Trey Franklin has more than 1,100 yards rushing while senior DeKendrick Smith and sophomore Rashad Boyd have combined for more than 1,000 yards offense. Coach Mark Uhiren says Smith and senior free safety Quincy Williams are playing well defensively. Senior cornerback Michael Snipes (broken leg) remains sidelined.

Jonesboro's backfield features junior dual-threat quarterback Moe Malugen (1,610 yards offense and 11 touchdowns) and speedy classmate Zac Brooks (108 carries for 798 yards and 11 TDs). But Jonesboro's kicking game impresses Uhiren most. "There are no weaknesses there." Junior kicker/punter Luke Ferguson averages 42 yards per punt and has made five of seven field goals, including a 37-yarder in a 33-17 loss to West Memphis. Jonesboro senior defensive ends Trip Crawford and Derreon Lamb own sub-5.0 speed to match up well against Marion's two tight-end set.
