No. 3 Rivercrest at Class 4A No. 22 Gosnell
Rivercrest beat Class 5A Greene County Tech 23-15 last week after losing its opener to East Poinsett County in the final minute. Sophomore running back Cecil Langston has 36 carries for 337 yards (9.4 yards per carry) and three touchdowns this year. Senior noseguard Clifton Boone recorded seven tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks against Greene County Tech. Senior quarterback Ethan Brown will miss at least three weeks and could be out for the year after breaking his leg. Brown's absence at cornerback hurts the Colts even more. Junior Marquez Chew takes over at QB this week. Junior right guard Garrett Johnson (5-11, 300) and sophomore center Brayden Wilson (6-0, 230) anchor the line.
Gosnell won five league games last fall after losing to Rivercrest 20-6. A week ago, the Pirates bounced back from an opening loss to Forrest City (27-14) with a 27-14 win at Osceola. Osceola out-gained the Pirates 299-279 but Gosnell forced four turnovers. Senior RB Marcus Mullins ran 36 times for 199 yards and two TDs. Junior QB Dwight Griffin threw a TD pass to senior Colten Godsey. Sophomore RB Carlos Blackman ran 2 yards for a TD. Mullins scored both TDs at Forrest City. "They like to run it and are physical," Rivercrest coach Kelly Chandler says. "It will come down to turnovers and the kicking game."

Elkins at HUNTSVILLE (14): Elkins totaled 156 yards in last week's 44-21 loss to Lavaca. Huntsville beat the Elks 14-0 in 2012.
Green Forest at BERRYVILLE (2): Green Forest senior QB Treyton Anderson threw three TD passes, including two to senior halfback Jordyn Mullins, in last week's 45-21 win over Pea Ridge. Mullins paces the Tigers this year with 109 yards rushing. Berryville beat Green Forest 21-16 last fall.
Greenland at PEA RIDGE (3): Mansfield mercy-ruled Greenland 49-6 last week before halftime. The Pirates claimed a share of the 1-3A crown last fall after a 48-7 loss to Pea Ridge.
HECTOR (22) at Marshall: Hector in position to win its first league title in a decade after last week's 28-14 win over Hackett. Marshall has lost to Berryville and Rose Bud by a combined score of 95-12.
SOUTHSIDE BATESVILLE (6) at Melbourne: Southside Batesville lost to Mountain View 26-20 last week. Melbourne looks to start 3-0 under first-year coach Kevin McCarn.
Mountain View at BROOKLAND (1): Mountain View rallied last week to beat Southside Batesville 26-20. Senior Michael Cox (6-3, 180) and junior Dakota Davis (6-3, 175) are splitting time at QB. Brookland beat the Yellow Jackets 22-12 a year ago.
PRAIRIE GROVE (31) at West Fork: West Fork has lost to 1-4A members Gentry and Farmington by a combined 58-0. Prairie Grove beat West Fork 43-0 last year.
Yellville-Summit at ENGLAND (6): Low numbers this year for Yellville-Summit (24 players on roster). The Panthers have allowed 72 points in a tie with Piggott and loss to Salem. England beat Yellville-Summit 12-7 last season.

Augusta at BALD KNOB (7): Bald Knob has scored 20 points in losses to Pocahontas and Newport. The Bulldogs beat Augusta 63-28 a year ago.
BARTON (34) at Clarendon: Barton senior QB Laquarius Hall rushed for 101 yards and a TD and threw a 35-yard TD pass to senior Justice Cole in last week's 33-0 win at Des Arc. Senior DL and Arkansas State commit Jarrod Chandler recorded 15 tackles.
Brinkley at EPISCOPAL (20): Episcopal senior QB William Pollock passed for 259 yards and five TDs in last week's 46-26 win over England. Sophomore playmaker Allie Freeman caught 12 of Pollock's 17 completions for 187 yards and four TDs. The Wildcats beat Brinkley 36-12 in 2012. Watch

HARDING ACADEMY (34) at Des Arc: Harding Academy senior QB Kohl Blickenstaff completed 19 of 31 passes for 183 yards, including a 5-yard TD pass to senior Trey Davis, in last week's 35-21 win at Heber Springs. Blickenstaff ran 1 yard for a TD and returned an interception 50 yards for a score. The Wildcats beat Des Arc 49-6 last fall.
MAYFLOWER (1) at Salem: Mayflower junior RB Justin Bailey generated 267 yards and three TDs in last week's 52-41 loss to Dardanelle. Bailey left the game in the third quarter after injuring his ankle with the Eagles leading 41-35. Junior QB Adam Dycus has completed 40 of 78 passes for 579 yards and 10 TDs this season. Salem beat the Eagles 34-28 last year.

Perryville at SUBIACO ACADEMY (7): Perryville, 2-0 for the first time since 2008, has beaten Bigelow and Cutter Morning Star by an average of 18 points. Subiaco Academy beat the Mustangs 27-12 last season.
Harrisburg at RIVERVIEW (8): Harrisburg lost five turnovers and gave up 439 total yards in last year's 19-7 loss to Riverview. A young Riverview squad battled well in last week's 28-14 loss to Hoxie.
Rose Bud at CONWAY CHRISTIAN (2): Rose Bud junior QB Andrew Adcock completed four TD passes to senior Tyler Weatherly in last week's 45-6 win over Marshall. The Ramblers beat Conway Christian 33-20 last year.

POCAHONTAS (7) at Corning: Corning has given up 84 points in losses to Walnut Ridge and Jonesboro Westside. Pocahontas beat the Bobcats 40-20 last fall.
Trumann at EARLE (25): Earle led Class 6A Lake Hamilton 26-21 after three quarters during last week's 35-26 loss. The Bulldogs beat Trumann 60-13 a year ago.

Harrisburg at RIVERVIEW (8): Harrisburg lost five turnovers and gave up 439 total yards in last year's 19-7 loss to Riverview. A young Riverview squad battled well in last week's 28-14 loss to Hoxie.
Cave City at HOXIE (18): Hoxie junior QB Cole Sears ran 21 times for 203 yards and two TDs and threw a 15-yard TD pass in last week's 28-14 win at Riverview. Senior LB Colton Brown (29 tackles), senior end Conner Roberts and junior end Stephen Arnold lead on defense. Junior center Aaron French (ankle) did not play last week but should return. The Mustangs beat Cave City 42-28 in 2012. The Cavemen have not won a non-conference game in three years.
MCCRORY (27) at Manila: Manila lost its eighth straight game last week (54-6 to E. Poinsett County). McCrory beat the Lions 43-12 a year ago.
Osceola at CARLISLE (4): Osceola out-gained Gosnell 299-279 in last week's 27-14 loss but lost four turnovers. Carlisle beat the Seminoles 22-18 last year.
Palestine-Wheatley at PIGGOTT (13): Piggott has scored 74 points in a tie with Yellville-Summit and loss at Brookland. Senior FB Garrett Cook broke his leg in last week's 45-44 loss at Brookland. The Mohawks beat Palestine-Wheatley 36-6 last season.

Two Rivers at ATKINS (14): Two Rivers lost seven of its last eight games in 2012 after a 2-0 start. The Gators have beaten Hector and Poyen by a combined score of 60-40. Atkins has scored 99 points in wins over Dover and Bigelow. The Red Devils beat Two Rivers 14-6 last year.
Waldron at CEDARVILLE (4): Cedarville rallied to beat Conway Christian 26-21 last week. The Pirates beat Waldron 20-8 in 2012. Two of Waldron's three wins since 2010 have been over Cedarville.
CHARLESTON (3) at Ozark: Charleston lost seven turnovers in last week's 23-15 win at Gentry. Junior QB Ty Storey passed for 394 yards and three TDs with two interceptions. Ozark beat the Tigers 35-0 last fall.
Bigelow at DANVILLE (18): Danville senior QB Brett Wilkins threw a 41-yard TD pass to senior Alex Xayadeth and ran 30 yards for a score in last week's 21-6 win at Mineral Springs. Bigelow beat the Little Johns 26-20 last year.
LAMAR (40) at W. Yell County: Lamar junior QB Braxton Sampley has completed 36 of 56 passes for 467 yards and eight TDs this season. Senior RB Hunter Sanders averages 6.9 yards per carry. Senior Ryan Jones has 12 receptions for 268 yards and five TDs. The Warriors beat WYC 41-0 in 2012.
Mount Ida at LAVACA (4): Mount Ida beat Jessieville 20-8 last week. Lavaca senior RB Anthony Todaro ran 21 times for 163 yards and two TDs in a 44-21 win over Elkins.
Mansfield at MENA (7): Mansfield mercy-ruled Greenland 49-6 last week before halftime. Junior RB Bo Patterson, who missed six games last year after breaking his collarbone at Greenland, ran 14 times for 126 yards and four TDs. Junior RB Jeffery Bartlett ran 13 times for 139 yards. Mena beat the Tigers 41-14 a year ago.
FARMINGTON (14) at Paris: Paris faces its first test of the year after beating J.C. Westside and Waldron by a combined 71 points. Farmington beat the Eagles 26-0 last fall.

B. Harmony Grove at MAGNET COVE (1): Harmony Grove hung with Gurdon in last week's 28-16 loss. Magnet Cove tied 5-3A member Centerpoint 14-14. The Panthers beat Harmony Grove 21-13 in 2012.

Bismarck at CUTTER M. STAR (12): Bismarck has lost 15 of its past 16 games, including last week's 36-13 loss to Dierks. Cutter Morning Star beat the Lions 34-13 a year ago.
MURFREESBORO (1) at Centerpoint: Murfreesboro has beaten 5-3A members Bismarck and Horatio by an average of seven points. Centerpoint tied Magnet Cove 14-14 last week. Murfreesboro beat the Knights 33-30 last season.
Mountain Pine at FOUNTAIN LAKE (30): Fountain Lake sophomore RB Sean McNeely rushed for the Cobras' only score this year in last week's 41-6 loss at Pottsville. Sophomore FB/LB Parker Ross (deep thigh bruise) should return this week. Fountain Lake beat Mountain Pine 38-6 last fall.
Parkers Chapel at GLEN ROSE (20): Parkers Chapel makes its second trip to Hot Spring County in three weeks. The Trojans gave up 357 yards Week 1 in a 34-19 loss at Magnet Cove. Glen Rose junior RB Carlos Burton rushed for more than 130 yards and three TDs in last week's 45-20 win at Bauxite.
Foreman at HORATIO (1): Horatio faces its third straight 7-2A opponent. The Lions beat Lafayette County 20-0 Week 1 and lost last week to Murfreesboro 26-14. Horatio beat Foreman 19-16 last year.
BAUXITE (1) at Jessieville: Bauxite has lost to defending Class 3A champ Harding Academy (43-20) and 2012 runner-up Glen Rose (45-20). Jessieville has split its first two games against 5-2A opponents, beating Mountain Pine (58-12) and losing to Mount Ida (20-8). Junior FB/S Bryce Cockman took snaps at Mountain Pine and scored Jessieville's only TD against Mount Ida. Nine sophomores start for the Lions.

C. Harmony Grove at ARKANSAS BAPTIST (7): Harmony Grove has lost to Bearden and Star City by a combined 63-8. The Hornets allowed 10 sacks in last week's 35-0 loss at Star City. This game ended in a 34-34 tie a year ago.

LAKE VILLAGE (21) at Drew Central: Drew Central lost its 24th game in a row last week (44-0 to Palestine-Wheatley). Lake Village has won four games since 2010.
FORDYCE (4) at Monticello: Fordyce senior athlete Javeaz Sledge ran 6 yards for a TD and threw a two-point conversion pass in last week's 20-8 win at Crossett. Sophomore Jakeymes Gates returned an interception 50 yards for a score. The Redbugs beat Monticello 36-0 last year. Watch

FOUKE (26) at Lafayette County: Fouke senior QB Jacob Garrett threw four TD passes to senior Nathan Chamblee in last week's 43-27 win over Foreman. The Panthers beat Lafayette County 47-0 in 2012.
Genoa Central at SPRING HILL (13): Genoa Central has given up 81 points in losses to 7-2A members Foreman and Lafayette County. The Dragons beat Spring Hill 42-8 last season.
MCGEHEE (7) at DeWitt: McGehee junior QB Tabor McGraw threw two TD passes, including a 44-yarder to sophomore Jayse Snider, in last week's 18-14 win over Dumas. Senior RB David Shepard returned a kickoff 64 yards for a score. The Owls beat DeWitt 21-0 a year ago. DeWitt notched its first non-conference victory since 2007 with last week's 31-6 win over Walnut Ridge.

Prescott at HOPE (2): Prescott junior RB Khaalid Stewart rushed for 122 yards and two TDs in last week's 21-8 win over Spring Hill. The Curley Wolves have beaten Hope five of the last six meetings, including 35-21 last year.
SMACKOVER (41) at Hermitage: Smackover senior RB Fabian Sims rushed for 102 yards and three TDs in last week's 41-6 win at Strong. The Buckaroos scored on six of their first seven possessions using multiple formations.
