WEEK 3 PREDICTIONS (favored team in ALL CAPS followed by point spread)
7A/6A CENTRAL
BRYANT (15) at LR Catholic: Bryant, headed for at least another 7-win season, has not lost to Catholic since 2008. It's won the past three meetings by an average score of 32-18.
Cabot at CONWAY (13): Conway has clobbered Cabot by a combined 78-14 the past two seasons. But last week Conway battled Jonesboro for less than five minutes before the game was canceled due to weather. Meanwhile, Cabot rolled up 281 yards rushing and scored on every possession to lead LR Catholic 28-7 before halftime.
FS Southside at SPRINGDALE HAR-BER (8): Southside QB Issac Jackson totaled 260 yards offense and the Rebel defense tallied seven sacks and three takeaways in last week's 38-21 win over Class 6A El Dorado. Rebel senior noseguard Fred Holden (6-2, 310) tackled 14 El Dorado ball carriers. Har-Ber's defense scored seven sacks, but the winless Wildcats committed six turnovers and blew a 9-point second half lead to lose 27-16 at Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge.
ROGERS (9) at FS Northside: Rogers and three-year starting QB Nick Wary use the triple option to roll while undersized, inexperienced and winless Northside allows 48 points per game. Rogers has completed one pass this season, winning its two games by a combined 82-26.
LR Fair at VAN BUREN (7): Both teams looking for first win. Van Buren has scored 33 points in 2012. Fair, which last won a game on the field Oct. 8, 2010, has lost its two games this season by a total of three points.

7A/6A EAST
Pine Bluff at NORTH LR (6): Game of the Week.
PULASKI ACADEMY (7) at West Memphis: Bruins win this week without hootens.com No. 1 recruit Hunter Henry and others. West Memphis junior fullback Jarvis Cooper (6-2, 235) will challenge Pulaski Academy's defensive front. PA allows 33.5 points per game.
LR CENTRAL (1) at El Dorado: LR Central coach Scooter Register returns to the town where he coached from 1995-2002 and compiled a 64-31-1 record (66.6 winning percentage). El Dorado has lost to Class 5A Camden Fairview and 7A power FS Southside by a combined 87-42. El Dorado did hold Southside to 219 yards and trailed by just 3 points in the fourth quarter.

7A/6A SOUTH
BRYANT (14)
at LR Catholic: Bryant, headed for at least another 7-win season, has not lost to Catholic since 2008. It's won the past three meetings by an average score of 32-18.

7A/6A WEST
Batesville (Miss.) South Panola at BENTONVILLE (1): Bentonville QB Reece Dollins passed for two TDs in the first quarter and Dillon Wade kicked two field goals in last week's 20-10 win at Broken Arrow, Okla. The Tigers' tough defense faces its toughest challenge of the season against athletic South Panola.
FS Southside at SPRINGDALE HAR-BER (8): Har-Ber beat Southside twice in its 2009 state title season, but Southside has won the past two years by seven points both times. Southside QB Issac Jackson totaled 260 yards offense and the Rebel defense tallied seven sacks and three takeaways in last week's 38-21 win over Class 6A El Dorado. Har-Ber's defense scored seven sacks, but the winless Wildcats committed six turnovers and blew a 9-point second half lead to lose 27-16 at Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge.
Harrison at ROGERS HERITAGE (21): Heritage looks to start league play 3-0 and completely healthy. Heritage junior QB Josh Qualls passed for three TDs and ran for another while Brandon Gates carried 19 times for 109 yards last week. Class 5A Harrison, coached by former Heritage offensive coordinator Chad Harbison, remains winless.
Muskogee, Okla. at FAYETTEVILLE (8): If football is still the roughest thing on campus in Muskogee then Fayetteville might want to stay away from the Roughers. Fayetteville linebacker Brooks Ellis and safety Alex Brignoni, both Razorback recruits, are already out. Still, the Purple Dogs should start a six-game win streak this Friday.
SPRINGDALE (10) at Bixby, Okla.: Undefeated Springdale has relied on the run and improved defense against smaller schools so far. Bixby got schooled by Jenks in a scrimmage before losing its opener by 14, but the Spartans managed a 42-7 win over Garden City last week. Bixby dresses eight players who weigh 240 pounds or more.
ROGERS (9) at FS Northside: Three-year starting QB Nick Wary and Rogers use the triple option to roll while inexperienced and winless Northside allows 48 points per game. Rogers has completed one pass this season, winning its two games by a combined 82-26. FS Northside QB Gray Stanton is the Arkansas Air Guard Scholar Athlete of the Week.
LR Fair at VAN BUREN (7): Both teams looking for first win. Van Buren has scored 33 points this season. Fair, which last won a game on the field Oct. 8, 2010, has lost its two games this season by a total of 3 points.
