GAME OF THE WEEK
No. 3 Beebe at Class 4A No. 5 Lonoke

The Battle of Highway 31 amps up this season with both teams ranked in Hootens.com Top 5. Beebe trailed Greenbrier by two touchdowns in the first half last week before rallying for a 41-27 victory. Beebe seniors Trip Smith and Jovaughn Wyrick combined for 380 yards and five TDs (Wyrick ran for 213 yards and four scores). "They are our bellcows," Coach John Shannon says. "Team's can't key on just one of them." Beebe's defense played well against Greenbrier, the coach says. Senior cornerback Connor Patrom intercepted one pass and returned a kickoff 95 yards for a TD.

Lonoke dominated previously third-ranked Star City 38-27 last week. Lonoke senior Justin Meadows ran eight times for 175 yards and three TDs. Senior Josh Coleman didn't play in last year's contest against Beebe (Achille's injury) but burned the Badgers for 100 yards as a sophomore. Meadows, a three-year starter at free safety, returned also returned a fumble for a TD. "If you give Meadows a crease, he's gone," Shannon says. "And Coleman killed us two years ago. 5A CENTRAL
BRYANT (17) at LR McClellan: The Bryant Hornets might have a letdown after last week's emotional 24-point win over rival Benton. Bryant senior tight end Jaret Jacobs caught a crucial 9-yard TD pass to rally Bryant. LR McClellan's improved offensive line helped the Crimson Lions rush for more than 200 yards in last week's 23-point win over Sheridan.
BENTON (21) at Jacksonville: Benton led Class 7A Bryant at halftime last week. Jacksonville yielded 270 yards rushing in last week's 38-point loss to Maumelle.
MILLS (7) at LR Hall: These teams combined for less than 200 yards and 21 points in losses last week. LR Hall hasn't won since Week 3, 2011.
LR Fair at LR PARKVIEW (35): LR Fair lost to Class 4A Subiaco Academy 21-14 last week. LR Parkview QB Koilan Jackson generated 284 yards (177 yards passing) and four TDs in a 49-point win at Mills. LR Fair returned two kickoffs for TDs against Subiaco Academy.
BEEBE (3) at Lonoke: Hootens.com Class 5A Game of the Week.
PULASKI ACADEMY (24) at Wynne: A rematch of last year's state title game that Pulaski Academy won 38-28. The Bruins held Dallas Highland Park to 125 yards in last week's nationally-recognized 40-13 triumph (Highland Park's first home loss since 1998). Pulaski Academy generated 514 yards against Highland Park. Wynne led Marion in the fourth quarter last week before losing 26-23.
HS LAKESIDE (2) at Sylvan Hills: Sylvan Hills has beaten the Rams a total of 17 points the past two seasons, and they two were in a close game that was halted by lightening in 2012. HS Lakeside inside linebackers gave Class 7A LR Central fits in last week's 44-42 win. Sylvan Hills applied the 35-point sportsmanship rule on Vilonia last week.

5A EAST
Marion at NETTLETON (1): Marion beat Wynne by three points last week when junior K.B. Williams forced a fumble in the final seconds of the first half, and returned 99 yards for a momentum-changing TD. Marion forced two turnovers and stopped Wynne on fourth down three times. Nettleton shutout Newport last week, the first shutout since Week 2, 2013. Nettleton held Newport to 17 yards in the first half.
Mountain Home at VALLEY VIEW (14): Valley View beat Class 6A Mountain Home by 19 points a year ago. Mountain Home has lost 31 straight games. The Bombers allowed 306 yards rushing last week against Harrison.
BATESVILLE (7) at Searcy: Batesville scored two fourth-quarter TDs last week to rally past Watson Chapel 26-21. Junior QB Zach Griffin passed for 125 yards and ran for 94 yards. Watch highlights of Batesville's Week 1 win over Watson Chapel here.
WEST MEMPHIS (7) at Blytheville: Both notched mercy-rule wins last week. Blytheville junior Demekko Clark ran for 141 yards and four TDs in last week's 44-0 win at Osceola. West Memphis senior QB Kylin Whiting passed for 126 yards and rushed for 126 more in a 41-6 win at Forrest City.
PULASKI ACADEMY (24) at Wynne: A rematch of last year's state title game that Pulaski Academy won 38-28. Forrest City at DOLLARWAY (4): Forrest City gained just nine yards in the first half of last week's 35-point loss to Class 7A West Memphis. Dollarway rallied for a 12-0 deficit for a 38-18 triumph last week against West Helena. Dollarway junior QB Simeon Blair ran for two TDs and threw another against West Helena.
Greene Co. Tech at NEWPORT (2): Newport running back Carl Turner gained just 35 yards in last week's 20-point loss to Nettleton. Greene County has given up at least 40 points in seven of its past 11 games.
POCAHONTAS (6) at Paragould: Pocahontas has beaten the Rams four of the past five seasons. Pocahontas junior QB Reece Coates passed for 192 yards and four TDs and ran for 123 yards and a three scores in last week's 64-39 win over Riverview. Paragould was tied with Rivercrest at halftime last week, missed an extra-point in the fourth quarter and lost 14-13.

5A SOUTH
HS LAKESIDE (2) at Sylvan Hills: Sylvan Hills has beaten the Rams a total of 17 points the past two seasons, and they two were in a close game that was halted by lightening in 2012. HS Lakeside inside linebackers gave Class 7A LR Central fits in last week's 44-42 win. Sylvan Hills applied the 35-point sportsmanship rule on Vilonia last week.
PINE BLUFF (21) at Watson Chapel: Watson Chapel hasn't beaten the Zebra's since 2009. Pine Bluff led Class 7A FS Northside 28-0 in the first half last week before winning 28-7. Hamburg at CAMDEN FAIRVIEW (3): Hootens.com Class 4A Game of the Week.
NASHVILLE (14) at De Queen: Nashville has won four straight over De Queen, including 45-2 last year. Scrapper senior QB Leonard Snell ran for 139 yards and two TDs last week in a one-point win over Hope. De Queen QB Drew Dykes threw a pair of TD passes in last week's 28-point win at Mena, the Leopard's first non conference victory since Week 1, 2012.
HOPE (6) at Ashdown: Ashdown has won three of five over Hope since the series renewed in 2010. Hope defensive end McTelvin Agim committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday. Agim lined up in the backfield last week at Nashville, rushing seven times for 46 yards and three TDs. Ashdown held Class 6A LR Hall to 44 yards in last week's 32-point triumph. Mena at HOT SPRINGS (10): Class 5A Hot Springs has beaten Mena two of the past three seasons. Mena sophomore QB Carson Cannon passed for 68 yards and ran for 31 yards in last week's 28-point loss to De Queen. Watch highlights of Hot Springs' Week 1 win over Lake Hamilton here.
MONTICELLO (1) at Magnolia: These teams played for the 1994 state championship. Monticello senior Scott Bratton returned the opening kickoff 98 yards for a TD in last week's 54-point win at Lake Village. The Billies gained 465 yards on 36 plays.
LR CHRISTIAN (20) at White Hall: These teams have split the past two meetings, with LR Christian winning by 11 points a year ago. White Hall won by three points in 2013 and LR Christian led 7-6 in 2012 when the game was ruled a no contest because of lightening. LR Christian senior QB Kyron Sanders, in his Warrior debut, passed for 198 yards and ran for 105 yards last week.

5A WEST
SILOAM SPRINGS (12) at Harrison: Siloam Springs held Class 7A Rogers to 78 yards last week. The Panthers scored just one offensive TD. Harrison tallied 385 yards in last week's 21-point win at Mountain Home, including 307 yards rushing.
LR CHRISTIAN (20) at White Hall: These teams have split the past two meetings, with LR Christian winning by 11 points a year ago. White Hall won by three points in 2013 and LR Christian led 7-6 in 2012 when the game was ruled a no contest because of lightening. OZARK (7) at Clarksville: Ozark has beaten its former conference rival four of the past seven seasons. Hillbillies used a first-half goal line stand to spark last week's 26-0 win over Booneville. With 22 seniors, the Hillbillies limited Booneville to 108 yards in the first half. Clarksville senior Jason White ran 11 times for 89 yards and two TDs two weeks ago in a scrimmage against Atkins.
Huntsville at FARMINGTON (10): Huntsville hasn't beaten Farmington since 2003. Farmington junior receiver, and first-year player, Trenton McChristian caught a pair of TD passes and returned a kickoff 77 yards for a score in last week's 16-point win over Prairie Grove.
Heber Springs at GREENBRIER (9): Greenbrier led Beebe in the first half last week and forced a pair of fumbles. Heber Springs QB Hunter Chandler passed for 239 yards and a TD in last week's 15-point win at Clinton.
Pottsville at MORRILTON (6): Morrilton ran for 306 yards in last week's 14-point win over Russellville, including 170 yards and two scores from senior Harrison Pavatt. Pottsville pass defense played well in last week's seven-point win over Gravette.
HARDING ACADEMY (21) at Vilonia: Harding Academy scored 43 straight points last week after falling behind 6-0 to Class 4A Highland. Vilonia trailed Sylvan Hills 35-0 in the second quarter last week and gave up nine TDs.
Maumelle vs. MONROE (La.) NEVILLE (28) (Sat.): Maumelle was forced to find a Week 2 game after scheduled opponent North Pulaski dropped its program in the spring. Defending Louisiana state champion Monroe Neville beat powerful Ruston (La.) by 16 points last week. Maumelle
