No. 1 Harding Academy at Class 4A No. 23 Heber Springs
Harding Academy beat Bauxite 43-20 last week for its 15th straight victory. Senior quarterback Kohl Blickenstaff scored two touchdowns, while senior Trevor Smith and junior Josh Walker each ran for a pair of TDs. Senior defensive standout Rayel Jackson blocked a punt and recovered it in the end zone for a score. Gifted senior Trey Davis spearheads the defense at inside linebacker and runs the ball inside the Red Zone and in short-yardage situations.
Heber Springs led Harding Academy 6-0 late in the second quarter last year before the game was canceled due to inclement weather. Senior QB Michael Kramer passed for 90 yards and a TD. The Panthers (7-5 in 2012) went on to reach the quarterfinals for the third time in school history. Kramer threw a TD pass to sophomore Hunter Chandler, while junior running back Chandler Marquardt ran for two scores in last week's 57-28 loss at Pottsville.

Pea Ridge at GREEN FOREST (2): Green Forest senior QB Treyton Anderson generated 206 yards and three TDs in last week's 41-28 loss at Reeds Spring, Mo. Senior tight end Clayton Watson caught seven of Anderson's nine completions for 158 yards and two scores. The Tigers lost at Pea Ridge 37-0 last year.
Elkins at LAVACA (4): Elkins senior QB Triston Ice ran 21 times for 149 yards and two TDs in last week's 27-24 loss to Pea Ridge. He threw a 77-yard TD pass to senior Trent Bulla. Lavaca lost six turnovers in a 54-19 loss at Prairie Grove. Senior Anthony Todaro returned a kickoff 75 yards for a TD. Junior QB Hayden Headley threw a 10-yard TD pass to junior receiver Levi Voss. Junior CB Luke Brown returned an interception 46 yards for a score. The Golden Arrows beat Elkins 26-16 in 2012.
Greenland at MANSFIELD (7): Greenland senior RB Calvin Giddens galloped 65 yards for a TD in last week's 27-18 win over Magazine. Mansfield beat Waldron 48-28. The Tigers have won two of the past three meetings in this back-and-forth series.
Marshall at ROSE BUD (8): It took Berryville 18 minutes to mercy rule Marshall last week (final 50-6). Marshall sophomore RB Tony Davis raced 95 yards for a TD with less than two minutes left. Rose Bud did not pick up a first down until the last drive in a 46-13 loss to Hazen. Rose Bud senior RB/LB Cole Robertson returned a fumble 57 yards for a TD.
MELBOURNE (3) at Cave City: Six Cave City starters were injured in last year's 28-14 loss at Melbourne. The athletic Bearkatz won their opener last week (35-22 at Palestine-Wheatley), while Cave City lost at Southside Batesville 28-8.
SOUTHSIDE BATESVILLE (25) at Mountain View: Mountain View has dropped 14 of its past 17 games, including last year's 14-0 loss at Southside Batesville.
FARMINGTON (21) at West Fork: West Fork has been shut out five times in its last 10 games. The Tigers totaled 167 yards in last week's 30-0 loss at Gentry. Farmington downed West Fork 25-0 in 2012.
Yellville-Summit at SALEM (11): Yellville-Summit made a goal-line stand to preserve a 30-30 tie with Piggott last week. Senior QB Caleb Gilley rushed for 110 yards and scored the two-point conversion that tied the game in the fourth quarter. Sophomore RB Cale Howk ran 18 times for 159 yards and a TD.

NEWPORT (14) at Bald Knob: Bald Knob has lost six of its past seven games, including last week's 18-13 setback at Pocahontas. Newport beat the Bulldogs 28-14 last fall.
BARTON (8) at Des Arc: Barton gave up three TD passes in last week's 38-29 win over DeWitt. The Bears defeated Des Arc 28-0 last season.
ENGLAND (6) at Episcopal: Episcopal senior QB William Pollock passed for 133 yards and three TDs in last week's 27-17 win over Conway Christian. England beat the Wildcats 40-14 in 2012.

DARDANELLE (14) at Mayflower: Mayflower junior QB Adam Dycus completed 20 of 42 passes for 306 yards and five TDs in last week's 45-26 win at Dumas. The Eagles lost at Dardanelle 47-13 a year ago.
Cutter M. Star at PERRYVILLE (1): Perryville pumped after knocking off rival Bigelow 28-12 last week. The Mustangs beat Cutter Morning Star 28-20 last year for its only win.
HOXIE (13) at Riverview: Hoxie junior QB Cole Sears generated 173 yards and three TDs in last week's 42-6 win over Trumann. Junior RB Gunner Cook ran 10 times for 110 yards. Riverview junior RB Xavier Barrow ran 15 times for 145 yards and two TDs in a 41-8 win at Cedar Ridge. Sophomore QB David Lee passed for 120 yards and a score.
Marshall at ROSE BUD (8): It took Berryville 18 minutes to mercy rule Marshall last week (final 50-6). Marshall sophomore RB Tony Davis raced 95 yards for a TD with less than two minutes left. Rose Bud did not pick up a first down until the last drive in a 46-13 loss to Hazen. Rose Bud senior RB/LB Cole Robertson returned a fumble 57 yards for a TD.

Jonesboro Westside at CORNING (1): Corning's lack of speed showed in last week's 43-8 loss at Walnut Ridge. A veteran Jonesboro Westside squad looks to avenge last year's 37-7 loss to Corning.
LAKE HAMILTON (35) at Earle: Lake Hamilton senior QB Nathan Sawrie threw four interceptions, including one returned 15 yards for a TD on the first play from scrimmage, in last week's 55-13 loss at North LR. Earle senior QB Ledarious Kimble ran for three TDs in a 48-20 loss at Junction City. Lake Hamilton beat the Bulldogs 49-6 last season.
HARRISBURG (8) at Marked Tree: Harrisburg surrendered 649 yards in last week's 81-57 loss to Cross County. The Hornets led Marked Tree 28-22 in the second quarter during last year's contest before the game was canceled (lightning).
HOXIE (13) at Riverview: Hoxie junior QB Cole Sears generated 173 yards and three TDs in last week's 42-6 win over Trumann. Junior RB Gunner Cook ran 10 times for 110 yards. E. POINSETT COUNTY (42) at Manila: Manila lost to Jonesboro Westside 42-0 last week. EPC, coming off its first-ever win at the Cotton Patch in Rivercrest (28-27), beat the Lions 46-0 in 2012.
Gosnell at OSCEOLA (6): Osceola beat Blytheville 40-22 last week for the first time since 2005. Senior RB and Nettleton transfer Ashton Nalls rushed for 202 yards and two TDs. Junior QB and Kennett, Mo., transfer Harold Weedon (6-1, 205) passed for 190 yards and two TDs. Junior playmaker Tevin James ran 5 yards for a score, caught a 26-yard TD pass, returned a kickoff 70 yards for a TD and intercepted a pass. The Seminoles beat Gosnell 18-0 last fall.
Piggott at BROOKLAND (4): Piggott salvaged a 30-30 tie with Yellville-Summit last week after trailing 14-0 in the first quarter. Senior RB Nick Haywood ran 18 times for 118 yards and a TD, while junior RB Bradley Stephens finished with 10 carries for 71 yards and two scores. Sophomore DB Logan Dixon returned an interception 66 yards for a TD.
GREENE CO. TECH (6) at Rivercrest: Rivercrest out-gained East Poinsett County 267-147 and forced four turnovers in last week's 28-27 loss. But 12 penalties, two second-half turnovers and a poor passing game hurt the Colts. Greene County Tech defeated Rivercrest 41-23 last year.

ATKINS (12) at Bigelow: Atkins senior RB Malachi McDaniel ran eight times for 134 yards and two TDs and caught a TD pass in last week's 48-35 win over Dover. Bigelow lost to Perryville 28-12.
CEDARVILLE (18) at Conway Christian: Cedarville senior QB Dylan Shelton completed nine of 12 passes for 226 yards and four TDs in last week's 51-6 win over Mountainburg. Senior receiver Alex Cantrell caught five balls for 207 yards and four TDs. Junior Kendall Pittman returned an interception 93 yards for the game's first score. Conway Christian (0-1 after losing to Episcopal 27-17) beat the Pirates 42-30 in 2012.
CHARLESTON (10) at Gentry: Charleston junior QB Ty Storey completed 23 of 32 passes for 383 yards and four TDs in last week's 42-19 win over Clarksville. The Tigers beat Gentry 52-21 a year ago.
Danville at MINERAL SPRINGS (4): Both teams coming off Week 1 losses. Danville lost five turnovers in a 42-0 loss at Dardanelle. Mineral Springs fell to Fouke 29-8.
Subiaco Academy at LAMAR (1): Lamar junior QB Braxton Sampley threw four TD passes in last week's 35-14 win over Gravette. The Warrior defense, coordinated by Mason Moody, forced five turnovers. Sophomore safety Blake Kern returned an interception for a score. Lamar beat Subiaco Academy 18-0 a year ago.
Elkins at LAVACA (4): Elkins senior QB Triston Ice ran 21 times for 149 yards and two TDs in last week's 27-24 loss to Pea Ridge. He threw a 77-yard TD pass to senior Trent Bulla. GURDON (20) at B. Harmony Grove: Harmony Grove senior RB Nick Johnson and sophomore RB Jonathan Johnson each ran for a pair of TDs in last week's 40-7 win at Poyen. Gurdon (1-0 after a 42-14 win at Prescott) beat the Cardinals 41-8 in 2012.
DIERKS (6) at Bismarck: Dierks beat 5-3A member Centerpoint by two TDs last week. Bismarck has lost 14 of its past 15 games.
MAGNET COVE (7) at Centerpoint: Magnet Cove amassed 357 yards in last week's 34-19 win over Parkers Chapel. Centerpoint mourns the death of senior receiver Ryan Swaim who drowned on Saturday. Magnet Cove beat the Knights 21-14 a year ago.
Fountain Lake at POTTSVILLE (18): Fountain Lake lost six turnovers, including five fumbles, and managed 94 total yards in last week's 35-0 loss to Maumelle. Senior RB Seth Harper (knee), sophomore FB Parker Ross (deep thigh bruise) and junior guard Austin Sutterfield (knee) are doubtful this week. Pottsville beat the Cobras 34-20 last fall.
GLEN ROSE (21) at Bauxite: Glen Rose senior QB Clay Holicer threw two TD passes and ran for a score in last week's 35-27 loss at Malvern. Senior RB Austin Kehner ran 15 times for 70 yards and a TD. Junior RB Carlos Burton did not play but returns this week. The Beavers beat Bauxite 35-0 last season.
HORATIO (6) at Murfreesboro: Horatio outscored Murfreesboro 14-7 in the second half during last year's 33-32 victory. Junior RB Jimmy Starwalt ran 20 times for 162 yards, including 15 yards for the game-winning score in the fourth quarter.
JESSIEVILLE (16) at Mount Ida: Four Jessieville sophomores accounted for five TDs in last week's 58-12 win at Mountain Pine. The Lions beat Mount Ida 28-0 last year.
TWO RIVERS (2) at Poyen: Two Rivers escaped 4-2A favorite Hector 40-34 last week. Poyen lost to 5-3A member Benton Harmony Grove 40-7.

6-3A
C. Harmony Grove at STAR CITY (7): Harmony Grove totaled 265 yards in last week's 28-8 loss to Bearden. The Bearden defense recorded seven sacks. Star City beat the Hornets 38-28 a year ago.
Drew Central at PALESTINE-WHEATLEY (21): Drew Central loses its 24th straight game. Palestine-Wheatley beat the Pirates 44-20 last season.
FORDYCE (6) at Crossett: Fordyce senior QB Braden Chambers threw three TD passes in last week's 28-21 win over Rison. Senior RB/DB Larry Buckley returned a fumble 35 yards for a score. The Redbugs beat Crossett 34-6 last fall.
Foreman at FOUKE (14): Fouke ball-controlled Mineral Springs last week in a 29-8 victory without senior center Drake Cross (ankle), rushing for 328 yards. Junior RB Tyler Edwardes ran for 150 yards and two TDs in the first half. Foreman beat Fouke 48-20 last year.
LAFAYETTE COUNTY (9) at Genoa Central: Both teams struggled offensively in Week 1 losses. Genoa Central still adjusting to its no-huddle Spread.
Dumas at MCGEHEE (7): Dumas has not won a non-conference game since beating Fordyce 35-14 Week 2, 2010. McGehee gave up two fourth-quarter scores in last week's 15-0 loss to Hamburg. The Owls beat Dumas 35-20 in 2012.
Spring Hill at PRESCOTT (10): Gurdon mercy-ruled Prescott before halftime last week. Prescott junior FB William Gillard and junior RB Khaalid Stewart each ran for a score. The Curley Wolves beat Spring Hill 36-7 last fall.
SMACKOVER (15) at Strong: Smackover made quick work of Western Yell County (48-6) last week. Junior WR/S Elmo Hempstead caught an 11-yard TD pass and returned an interception 36 yards for a score. The Buckaroos beat Strong 48-8 in 2012.
