CLASS 3A SEMIFINALS
No. 5 Prescott at No. 4 Rivercrest

After just one victory in 2005, Prescott has won at least 10 games and a league title in three of its last four seasons. The Curley Wolves have won nine consecutive games after they lost to Class 4A No. 2 Nashville Week 2 and Class 5A No. 24 Hope Week 3 by a combined score of 61-10. Senior QB/DB C.J. Smith ran 10 times for 87 yards and a TD and intercepted two Glen Rose passes in last week's 45-25 win over the Beavers. Smith (1,394 yards of offense and 20 TDs), senior RB James Colbert and sophomore RB Daniel McCoy power Prescott's run-heavy offense that averages 36 ppg. Colbert has 76 carries for 792 yards (10.4 ypc) and 15 TDs, while McCoy has rushed for 503 yards and nine TDs on 90 carries this year. Senior LB Daylon Biggs (team-high 14 tackles per game) paces the Curley Wolf defense that allows 14 ppg. Senior LB Jonathan Burks and junior DB Ke'Andrae Ballance lead the team with 10 sacks and six interceptions, respectively.

Rivercrest is in the semifinals for the first time since 2003 and has won as many games this year as it did from 2006-2008. The Colts lost to Class 4A No. 4 Osceola 33-24 Week 3 and No. 12 Cave City 19-14 Week 7. Junior LB Earl Byrd (team-high nine sacks) made 10 tackles and two-and-a-half sacks, while senior LB Jasper Jackson (team-high 110 tackles) recorded a safety in last week's 22-0 win against Mansfield. The Colts held Mansfield to 149 total yards of offense. Junior DB Terrance Banks leads the team with four interceptions and 10 pass break-ups. Rivercrest averages 32 points and allows 15 points per game. Brown has accounted for 1,473 yards of offense and 18 TDs this year. Banks averages more than eight yards per touch and 20 yards per kick return. Byrd has carried the ball 99 times for 747 yards and eight TDs. Senior receiver T.J. Gordon paces the Colts with 15 catches for 278 yards and four TDs.

No. 3 Harding Academy at No. 1 Fountain Lake
The last time Harding Academy played in the semifinals it beat Lafayette County 45-29 in 2006. Junior QB Seth Keese ran 22 times for 207 yards and two TDs, while sophomore LB Jace Davis made nine solo tackles, including three for loss, and recovered a fumble to lead the Wildcats in last week's 20-12 win against Harrisburg. Harding Academy shut out the Hornets in the second half, holding them to 27 yards rushing. Harding Academy's rush defense has been porous at times this season (907 yards rushing combined by Barton, Brinkley and Paris). Keese has completed 149 of 230 passes for 2,222 yards and 21 TDs with six interceptions and has rushed 114 times for 892 yards and 19 TDs this year. The Wildcats average 38 points and allow 15 points per game. Junior RB Mark Makin has rushed 197 times for 1,772 yards and 26 TDs and averages 35.9 yards per kick return. WEEK 15 PLAYOFF PREDICTIONS (favored team in CAPS followed by point spread)

No. 5 PRESCOTT (1) at No. 4 Rivercrest
Two great defenses will be on display in Wilson this week, but the edge goes to speedy Prescott. Prescott's last appearance in the state finals was in 2006 when it lost to Shiloh Christian 48-6.

No. 3 Harding Academy at No. 1 FOUNTAIN LAKE (2)
A determined Fountain Lake team proves its 11-point win over Charleston was not a fluke. The Cobras earn their second consecutive trip to the state finals.
